ALPHA PHI
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Gracie Porter
Welcome to the Kappa Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! My name is Gracie Porter, and I am honored to serve as Chapter President. It’s hard to fully put into words what this chapter has meant to me, but I’ll do my best to share my experience with you.
From the moment I joined Alpha Phi, I knew I had found something special. Alpha Phi has been my home away from home at Carolina—in every sense of the word. Living in the house my sophomore year was one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences of my college journey. Sharing a home with 30 roommates allowed me to form deep connections, lasting friendships, and create countless memories that I will cherish forever. Whether we were laughing on the back porch, bonding over late-night conversations, or simply supporting one another through the ups and downs of life, I always felt surrounded by love and encouragement.

Thanks to the women in this chapter, I never once felt homesick during my time at Carolina. Instead, I felt embraced by a community that values, supports, and celebrates every individual for who they are. This chapter truly became my family, and the friendships I’ve made here will extend far beyond these college years. Alpha Phi is not just a sisterhood for four years; it truly is for life.
When you come to Carolina, the sisterhood you choose will play such a significant role in shaping your college experience. I can confidently say that Alpha Phi has shaped me into a stronger, more confident, and more compassionate version of myself. This chapter is made up of incredible women—women who are hardworking, driven, and inspiring, but also kind, empathetic, and always there when you need them. They have stood by me during my most challenging moments and celebrated with me during my greatest triumphs. Being chosen to lead this chapter has been the greatest honor of my college experience. It has given me the opportunity to give back to something that has given me so much. I am endlessly grateful for the friendships I’ve built, the lessons I’ve learned, and the memories I’ve created as a member of Alpha Phi.
